Grovedale is a settled south-Geelong family suburb with most of its residential development from the 1970s through 1990s. Pool stock is correspondingly mixed-age — from original 1970s installs through to mid-2000s additions — and we see a wider variety of barrier styles here than in either the older inner suburbs or the newer growth corridors.
Grovedale is on our weekly Geelong route from Clifton Springs.
Council: Grovedale is fully within City of Greater Geelong.
Mixed-era pool stock. The component-by-component assessment really matters in Grovedale because we routinely encounter pools where the perimeter fence is 1980s-original but the gate has been replaced (sometimes more than once). Each component is assessed against the standard in force when it was installed — the original fence may pass under its old standard while a 2018 gate replacement must meet current AS1926.1.
Inland and stable. Grovedale's inland positioning gives it good hardware longevity — galvanised steel typically 10+ years. The bigger issue here is post movement on the older 1970s-1980s installs where post depth doesn't always meet current spec; combined with normal soil movement over decades, post alignment can drift outside the compliance envelope.
