Mature gardens, mature risk. Kurunjang's 80s-90s family stock has had decades for gardens to grow up around the pool fence, and shrubs, pot plants and trellises that were planted well clear of the barrier originally can end up sitting inside the 900mm non-climbable zone without anyone noticing. This is the single most common thing I flag here, and it rarely reads as a hazard from the back door — a garden that's simply grown in nicely can, on measurement, be well inside the clear zone.

Hardware age matters too. Stock this old carries the same gate-spring and latch wear seen across Melton West and the rest of Melton's older suburbs — a spring that's lost its tension or a latch housing that's gone brittle in the sun is often just as likely a fail point as the vegetation issue. I check both the vegetation and the hardware on every Kurunjang visit, because either one on its own is enough to fail a barrier.

Where Brookfield's newer estates mostly deal with fresh installs and first registrations, and Melton proper splits between new-estate paperwork and old-suburb hardware wear, Kurunjang is fairly consistently the vegetation-and-hardware combination described above.
